Teresa Palmer may have gotten her face on the DVD box cover for “I Am Number Four,” but the Australian actress has surprisingly little screen time in this sci-fi release from February that hits home video Tuesday. She talked recently about writer James Frey, her lack of knowledge about Mogadorians and her hopes for a sequel. Apparently, her character – Number Six — will be around a whole lot more in the sequel, as you might have expected from the ending of the first film.

PKD: Does “I Am Number Four” have a fan base? Have you heard from them?

TP: Oh yeah! I mean the whole reason I started on Twitter [was that] I was meeting so many people who were fans of the movie and the books and they wanted to ask questions. Then someone suggested I get on Twitter. So what I’ve been doing is that every now and then I’ll do a Q&A on Twitter. But the majority of the questions are about the film and Number Six and the sequels. People have really embraced the movie, which is exciting.

PKD: Do you get lots of questions about the mythology behind “I Am Number Four”?

TP: About the Mogadorians? Yes, I get those kind of questions on Twitter, which are really scary. They’re these people who have read the book five or six times, and they’re so in the know. They know more about it than I do, and they ask very, very specific questions. You don’t want to give them the wrong answers, so it can be daunting as well. It’s really nice to have that interaction with the fans and hear how passionate how they are.

Ii Aussie starlet Teresa Palmer getting ready to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend, Canadian actor Scott Speedman?

The US tabloids claim that the couple are getting super-serious, super-fast.

It’s understood the 25-year-old Aussie actress this week introduced Speedman, 35, to the cast and crew of her new film AWOL, which also stars Aussie hunk Liam Hemsworth.

And sources have told American Star magazine that the couple have already discussed marriage.

“I got a very lovely surprise standing outside my hotel room on fri night!! Best ann arbor weekend ever,” Palmer tweeted of Speedman’s visit.

The I Am Number Four star is due back home later this year to begin shooting Mad Max: Fury Road with Brit hunk Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

Teresa Palmer is hoping to follow in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps.

The I Am Number Four star has commissioned a script to be written with a “very Angelina Jolie” lead role for her, and is set to produce the indie film about corruption in the pharmaceutical industry.

“As a producer you have creative control, and that’s what is so exciting about it,” the actress told Australian Vogue.

“At the end of the day, if you have made a film it’s totally your responsibility, and if it works it’s your responsibility and if it doesn’t it’s also your responsibility.”

Having appeared in The Grudge 2, December Boys and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and worked alongside Hollywood stars such as Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Sandler and Nicolas Cage, 25-year-old Teresa still has to pinch herself sometimes.

“I don’t think I will ever get to the point where I think: ‘Oh, I’ve made it’. I know my parents are really proud of me, and they think I’ve become successful, so that’s nice, but there’s still so much I want to achieve in my life,” she added.

Teresa Palmer may be known for her blockbuster roles, but she’s more than just another pretty Hollywood blonde.
Appearances can be deceiving. Sitting in a Sydney cafe, Teresa Palmer, she of the golden locks and delicate features, looks positively angelic. She is polite and softly spoken, but the 24-year-old Adelaide-born actress is definitely not to be underestimated.

Take her latest role. In I Am Number Four, a sci-fi blockbuster produced by Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay and directed by DJ Caruso (Disturbia), she plays “bad-ass” Number Six, one of nine aliens sent to Earth disguised as high school students and now on the run from their enemies. In the movie she kicks, punches, rides a motorcycle and fires rocket launchers with as much élan as Angelina Jolie.

She had a great time, especially given how hard she trained. “My character is such a warrior and I’m really not,” she says with a laugh. “I’ve never done any sort of kicking or shot a gun, I’ve never stabbed anyone, obviously, so these are skills that I’ve had to learn.” She was in training for three months prior to shooting and it had some unexpected benefits. “I feel like if I ever got into some sort of rumble on the street, I will actually be able to defend myself.”
